2022
The Possum Creek Ramblers are a Dayton band playing a variety of contemporary and traditional bluegrass with plenty of crossover tunes snuck in there. We formed in 2022 combining friends and family into a new band with a focus on harmonies and instrumental variety. Founding members include Chris Lemon (lead vocals, baritone vocals, banjo, dobro), Jeff Martin (lead vocals, backup vocals, bass & guitar) & Sylvia Gleason (soprano vocals & fiddle). In 2023, Tyler "T-Bone" Joseph (guitar, lead and back up vocals) and Christian Tobbe (lead vocals, mandolin, fiddle)--of Christian T. and the Six Shooters--joined the group, bringing considerable instrumental and vocal talent. In late 2023, Matt Lemon (cofounder of Lemongrass) began to fill in for the group as well, and is as much a member of the band as anyone else, having played bass, mandolin, fiddle and even some guitar at a large number of our shows.
We started out gigging at a couple of community events and a campground in 2022, then we expanded and digitized our PA system in 2023 with Chris' winnings from a couple of marathons. We kicked off 2023 with a grad party in April and booked over a dozen more gigs for 2023. Since then we have gone on to compete on Dayton Battle of the Bands, perform at homes, festivals, restaurants and other venues such as the Clifton Opera House, where we recorded our music that you can now find on Spotify and other streaming services.
